1. Acceptance

By accessing or using app.silentinstallhq.com ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. What the Platform Is

Silent Install HQ is a software intelligence platform that analyzes Windows installer binaries and provides deployment metadata including silent install switches, detection rules, and package signatures. Data is provided for informational purposes to assist IT and packaging professionals.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use the Platform to:

  • Look up installer metadata for software you are authorized to deploy
  • Upload installer binaries you own or have rights to submit
  • Integrate with the API under your issued API key's rate limits
  • Share links to individual installer pages

4. Prohibited Conduct

You may not, without prior written permission:

  1. Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the Platform by any automated means, including but not limited to scripts, bots, spiders, or data mining tools.
  2. Bulk export, mirror, or replicate the Platform's database or any substantial portion of it.
  3. Use the Platform's content to build, train, or populate a competing product or service.
  4. Circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limiting, access controls, or any security feature.
  5. Share, sell, or sublicense your API key.
  6. Submit installer binaries you do not own or have authorization to upload.
  7. Use the Platform to distribute, analyze, or promote malware or software that violates applicable law.

5. Intellectual Property

The Platform's software, design, and original content are owned by Silent Install HQ. Installer metadata derived from third-party software (product names, version strings, publisher information) belongs to the respective software vendors. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any Platform content.

Submissions: By uploading a binary, you grant Silent Install HQ a perpetual, royalty-free license to analyze the binary, store derived metadata, and surface that metadata to other users. You represent that you have the right to make this submission. If the installer cannot be identified by our detection engine, the binary may be retained in secure storage for up to 7 days to enable administrator review, after which it is permanently deleted.

6. API Access

API keys are issued per account and govern programmatic access. Rate limits are enforced per key per day. Sharing keys, rotating through multiple keys to circumvent limits, or using keys for bulk harvesting violates these Terms and will result in key revocation without notice.

7. No Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is." Silent Install HQ makes no warranty that installer metadata is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. Deployment decisions are your responsibility. Always test in a non-production environment before deploying to managed endpoints.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Silent Install HQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including damages from failed or incorrect deployments.

9. Termination

Silent Install HQ reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any account or IP address that violates these Terms, without notice.

10. Changes

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
